Inside Look : Casa Tira Tulum Villa Rental

Are you trying to decide where to stay in Tulum with a group and considering Casa Tira? If you’re looking for a beautiful, Instagram-worthy Tulum villa rental for a bachelorette, group trip with friends, retreat, or reunion – you’re in the right place!

Tulum is such a popular destination to visit in Mexico. There are a SO many things to consider when it comes to deciding on your accommodations in Tulum. Is it best to stay in Tulum town (Pueblo) or on the beach (Zona Hotelera)? With a group, is a hotel or rental better? In other words – there’s a lot of choices!

I’ve spent a lot of time in Tulum and have stayed all over town – in hotels on the beach, airbnbs in town and in the new Aldea Zama area.

I recently photographed the stunning Casa Tira mansion. This post is to share an overview of our stay at the Tulum villa rental. I hope to help you decide if it’s the perfect spot for your group!

Why You Should Consider Casa Tira For Your Tulum Villa Rental

  • Size : At over 8600 square feet, the luxury Tulum mansion has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. It sleeps 16 people. The bedrooms are spread out over three floors. It’s setup to give you your own space to unwind, ideal for a group.
  • 360º Jungle views : There are several viewing decks where you can catch stunning jungle views.
  • Communal Gathering Spaces : Casa Tira is designed to invite guests to gather. The pool, rooftop deck, kitchen and outdoor dining spaces are created for groups to enjoy. It’s so fun to think about all of the memories made on this property!
  • Convenience : Rather than trying to coordinate a hotel for your group, finding a large home with a variety of amenities makes trip planning easier. Casa Tira’s concierge services will assist with transportation, experience planning, and anything else to make your trip special.

Casa Tira Location

Casa Tira is a gated private mansion located on the edge of Tulum’s downtown. It’s conveniently close to Carretera Federal, which leads directly to Cancun and other popular destinations along the Riviera Maya. Casa Tira is 35 minutes from the new Tulum airport. For those flying into Cancun, it’s a 90 minute drive. When the new El Tren Maya opens, one of the Tulum stations will be even closer to Casa Tira!

When looking for a place to stay in Tulum, the question always comes up – is it better to stay on the beach or in town? The majority of Tulum accommodations along the beach are hotels. Tulum hotels aren’t as ideal for a group as a rental is from a price and gathering standpoint.

Even though Casa Tira isn’t directly on the beach, it’s just about a 10 minute drive. Beach hotels in Tulum can get REALLY loud at night, so it’s nice to come home to your own oasis. The Tulum beach hotels are also much more expensive than staying in town. Plus – no pool close time at a rental 😉

The Casa Tira location is surrounded by cenotes, Mayan ruins, eco-tours, restaurants, nightlife, and more. During your planning, Casa Tira’s Free In-House Concierge will even help you arrange any experiences that would be special for your group.

The Rooms + Bathrooms At Casa Tira

Each of the 7 bedrooms and spa-like bathrooms has a completely unique design and vibe. They offer thoughtful touches and are like mini-retreats. Kai (was in heaven!) had a goal of sleeping in each of the bedrooms but only got through two ;). Room options at Casa Tira include :

  • Maya : The showcase room with beautiful arched ceilings, a conversation pit and jacuzzi hot tub.
  • Revivis : An outdoor shower, jacuzzi hot tub and 360º treetop view.
  • Tinez : Direct access to the pool, couple showers, jacuzzi hot tub.
  • Tirzah : Jungle theme shower wetroom with couple tub.
  • Okain : A second bed and ensuite bathroom.
  • Cajmere : Bright & airy with two patios, a second bed and ensuite bathroom.
  • Ferro : Jungle views and ensuite bathroom.

The Pool + Swim Up Bar

I feel like a hotel or rental that creates a true experience for your trip HAS to include a vibey pool, don’t you?!

Beyond the gorgeous architecture and designs throughout Casa Tira, the highlight in this Tulum rental is definitely the pool. The swim up bar is a total Instagram-worthy spot for photo memories. Although we didn’t experience it during our stay, Casa Tira has a mixologist available.

Surrounding the pool in the courtyard, you’ll find hammocks and a swing with a cute neon sign. It’s a great spot to unwind or have fun. I loved this space for yoga in the mornings. It’s a peaceful area surrounded by tropical gardens.

Favorite Features Of This Tulum Villa Rental

It’s hard not to be biased about the pool, but some of our other favorite features are :

  • The Rooftop Deck : The views for DAYS from Casa Tira’s rooftop are jaw dropping. Casa Tira mentions that it’s perfect for salsa dancing, yoga, samurai or weddings. I was so inspired by the space that I recorded a sunset DJ set on the roof – the view really set the tone for me.
  • Community + Dining Spaces : Casa Tira features large indoor and outdoor tables, welcoming groups to gather. The outdoor dining space has a full pizza oven. The living room and large kitchen are located directly off of the pool area. A private chef can be scheduled upon request.
  • Laundry Room : Having a laundry room available while in the tropics is such a welcomed bonus. The large laundry room is on the first floor. Laundry service is available as needed.
  • Tropical Gardens : There are beautiful garden spaces throughout the property. A waterfall in the courtyard sets the soundtrack for your stay.
