Berry Almond Butter Smoothie

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Servings: 2 smoothies
Course: Breakfast, Drinks
Cuisine: Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Almond Milk
  • 2 tbsp Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 1/2 cup Almond Butter
  • 1/2 cup Frozen Raspberries
  • 1/2 cup Frozen Blueberries
  • 1/2 cup Frozen Blackberries
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Raspberries I add these as an extra for more raspberry pop
  • 1 tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Flax Seeds
  • 2-3 tsps Agave

Equipment

  • 1 Blender

Method

Step 1 : Add Your Liquid Base
  1. Especially when I'm adding protein powder, I always start with my liquid base. Remember that a thick smoothie means less liquid - I love starting on the conservative side, and add more if needed. I find this smoothie is perfect with 1 1/2 cups to 2 cups of almond milk (for 2 servings).
Step 2 : Add All Other Ingredients
  1. Add protein powder, frozen and fresh berries, almond butter, chia and flax seeds, and agave to the blender.
Step 3 : Blend
  1. Run your blender until you see that clover shape when you look down at it. Play with the texture by adding more almond milk if your mix is too thick.
Step 4: Enjoy!
  1. That's all there is to it - pour, cheers and enjoy!

Notes

Note : A high-speed blender is really convenient if you're a regular smoothie drinker.  It helps to blend frozen fruits on the first blend.  I have had my Vitamix A3300 Ascent for years, and love it - at one point the pitcher had an issue, and Vitamix replaced it with no questions.
