1. Get Minimal!
Carve out a little time this week for a pre-holiday clean & organize session. Don't go too crazy on this step because it's easy to end up feeling overwhelmed when faced with a huge project. Go through each room and spend a little time putting aside things to donate, cleaning up, deep cleaning your space and re-arranging. 15-20 minutes in each room can go a long way to staging your space to feel glorious this season.
2. Add Some Scents You Love.
Place your favorite soy candles or essential oil diffusers around your space so that you can settle in after you get home for the evening and get your scents going to cozy in. Some of our favorite holiday grounding oils are cinnamon and frankincense, but there are SO many good ones. Be sure to get in on our BOGO essential oil sale through Black Friday if you need to add to your collection!
3. Create A Seasonal Bucket List.
This is another part of the process where you could easily get overwhelmed, so approach this step with simplicity again. Write a short list of some sweet, simple seasonal traditions that you can't miss or want to add in this year. Be sure to keep it short and sweet, stick to the things that you treasure. Schedule your experiences during times that you aren't rushed so that you can really enjoy them.
Choose your favorite organization and set up a day to volunteer with them. Giving and helping others is a sure way to keep you grounded.
5. Join Our FREE Meditation Community.
Are you wanting to meditate but have trouble consistently carving out the time? Us too. In our 5 Minutes To 2019 Meditation Tribe, we are tackling it together. By joining this free group, you'll receive a daily email reminder and inspiration to meditate daily in December. You'll kick off December 1st by meditating a minute and end the month by meditating 5 minutes daily. JOIN HERE.
6. Drop Your Device.
Commit to less screen time this holiday season by putting your device down whenever you can. Instead, take in the moments with a deep breath and a smile.
7. Write One Holiday Card A Day.
Do you love to write holiday cards but feel overwhelmed by the process? Fall into a routine of writing one holiday card a day for the next couple of weeks. Instead of rushing to get them all done at once, this practice will really allow you to get personal with each person you're writing to and won't overwhelm you to get them all done last minute.
8. Develop A Gratitude Practice This Season.
Every morning that you wake up, think of one person or thing that you are grateful for. Spend a moment reflecting on it with thanks before you go about your morning.
9. Gift Simply.
If you have gifts to give this season, keep them simple and sweet. It's easy to get caught up in the feeling of needing to purchase things just to have something to give and not really connecting to the whole process. Instead, go the simple route (maybe even the DIY route), gifting something that makes you happy and comes from the heart.
10. Make Time For Your Mat.
Commit to getting to your mat daily this season. Daily yoga practice - even if it's just 15 minutes a day - is an incredible way to get grounded and catch your breath a bit. Whether you're attending your favorite class or practicing at home, a few minutes on your mat can go a long way for keeping you going this season. Listen to yourself daily and go for the style and length of practice you need that day. Feeling like some yin? Check out our NEW MOON YIN SEQUENCE for a calming practice any day, or an extra special new moon wind-down with December's new moon on December 7th.
Traveling? Take your yoga on the go with you and commit to practicing in your hotel room for a few minutes in the morning and evening - or check out some fresh yoga studios in a new city!
PS - we've got SO MUCH online yoga coming in 2019 that we can't wait to share with you!
